Gameplay

You’ve got a choice of 28 apprentices. Each of them:

  • Possesses exclusive characteristics, and the story of his life is extraordinary and unique;
  • Belongs to one out of 13 races;
  • Belongs to one out of 13 classes (specialities);

Can master most of more than 150 various skills.

The system of characters description is rather extensive, and includes the following stats: strength, agility, dexterity, wisdom, intelligence, charisma, luck; dynamic characteristics: health, mana, stamina; as well as resists/vulnerabilities to 18 types of damages. Characters of different races and classes may possess inborn affinity or antagonism to more than 20 materials.

Your task is to develop your apprentice, to assist him in gaining experience and to help him to master the skills. However, in contrast to classic RPG you cannot rule your apprentice directly, as you’re a separate character in the game - the Teacher. Your apprentice makes a lot of decisions on his own, basing on the real experience of the fights he took part in. His teacher and book-learning are strong guides for him as well. The knowledge he gains refers to the strong and weak points of the enemies, to the choice of the best moment and the best action.

Your task as a teacher is not just to formally increase your apprentice's experience, but to ensure he’s got enough real war practice. To achieve this aim you can train him fighting against him in a gym, march out together for battles, or you can use other masters’ help. And remember, your apprentice is an alive creature with his own emotional peculiarities and selfhood, and they can influence his behavior none the less than all the rest.

There is another important thing you have to care about - your apprentice’s equipment. The characters can simultaneously use up to 18 items, so the less experienced but well-equipped character may turn out to be stronger his less equipped enemy. So, you’ll have to make a choice how to spend the money more efficiently, and what you apprentice will have on. This choice is truly difficult taking into account the time limit for teaching the novice. But the bet is the bet, and you'll have to learn to make the choice.
